The Durango Arts Center presents youth theater camps for children in kindergarten through second grade, Thursdays from 4 to 5pm, March 26th through May 14th. Registration and details are at durangoarts.org

The La Plata Quilters Guild will meet on Thursday, April 13 at 5:30 p.m. at the La Plata County Fairgrounds Extension Building . The Business meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. and a Zoom program featuring National Quilt Judge Allison Rainboth at approximately 6:40 p.m. Refreshments will be available, and members will be sharing in show and tell as time permits. Non-members are welcome to attend.
The program title is: “Through the judge’s Eyes”
Allison Rainboth, Owner of Sisters Choice Quiltiing Service in Berlin, WI has been longarm quilting since 2003, and completed more than 3,000 pieces before retiring from quilting for others. She has a strong interest in quilt history. Allison is a certified Quilt Judge and is also the administrator of the American Quilters Society Appraiser Certification Program.
Allison has judged quilt shows of all levels nationwide, and in 2023, had the opportunity to travel to Kuwait to judge for the Kuwait textile Arts Association national exhibition. She believers all entrants benefit from the judging process and works hard to provide useful feedback. Judging is a privilege, and Allison is grateful for opportunities to see so much beautiful work.
The Laboratory to Combat Human Trafficking, in collaboration with the League of Women Voters of La Plata County and the Fort Lewis College Sociology Club, will provide a training on how human trafficking is impacting Colorado and our region. The training will cover the laws, the local resources, the root causes, the intersectionality, and the social and systemic inequalities that can lead to trafficking. The training will take place from 5:45 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 9th at FLC's Noble Hall room 125. Visit LWVLaPlata.org for more information and how to register.

During the Read-a-Thon, volunteer readers sit and read in the front window of Maria’s Bookshop to raise money for the Literary Foundation’s Reading Room.

Baby Time is tailored for babies from birth-12 months together with their favorite adult!
Enjoy 15-20 minutes of early literacy activities followed by a playgroup. We sing songs, bounce to action rhymes, and share stories, providing a rich environment for babies to hear language and interact with others.
