The 7th International Mountain Medicine Symposium takes place in Silverton, starting Wednesday, September 17th. It will feature seminars on state of the art medical education, alpine rescue and high end avalanche awareness. A rope rescue course will be offered the preceding Thursday and Friday. mountainmedicinesymposium.org has registration and details.
The Durango Bird Club will host weekly Wednesday morning Bird Walks through the middle of October.Those interested may meet at 8AM at the painted wall in the Botanical Gardens in front of the public library.
From there we head down and do a loop around Huck Finn Pond and the Fish Hatchery and return to our starting place. everyone is welcome to join. Please bring your own binoculars.
HIIT stands for High Intense Interval Training. Each class will consist of a demonstration, warm-up, and 10-12 stations where we will focus on a specific body group per station. We will rotate through 3 rounds with a short break between each round. When the work out is over we cool down and stretch.
All equipment will be provided. These HIITs will be outside, please plan accordingly and bring your own water.
Workout using your own body weight or light hand weights to work all the body parts! The free classes are always similar in style but always different moves to keep it fun and fresh. You’ll need a yoga mat & light hand weights. If you don’t have them, they are extras that can be used. Each class is around 35 min. long. Modifications are always available. It’s always a fun, upbeat, encouraging, and a great workout. Taught by Tammy Williams, certified fitness instructor. All ages and fitness levels are welcome!
