Create Art and Tea is now hosting First Friday. First Friday is an effort to bring art and charitable foundations together. On the First Friday of every month, Create Art and Tea will host an art opening featuring new artists. Featured artists will choose a charity to support. A portion of the proceeds made from purchased art will go to the organization of choice. On opening night, you can expect light refreshments, live musical performances, the opportunity to meet the artists, and hear about the charitable organizations. The works for sale will remain in the loft area of the gallery for the remaining duration of each month. Dancing Spirit Center for the Arts in Ignacio presents the First Annual Youth Empowerment Artisan & Makers Showcase from 6 to 8PM on Friday.

Twelve Durango galleries are pulling out the stops and staying open late for the annual Durango Gallery Association Spring Gallery Walk on Friday, May 9 from 4-7pm. Stop by The ArtRoom Collective during the Gallery Walk to enter an art basket raffle and enjoy refreshments! We’ll feature an Art Fundraiser for Ray Martinez to purchase Donated Art to Support Ray's Battle Against Lymphoma.

Born from a Bob Dylan song, curated by Tim Kapustka and Studio & Gallery.

33 artists were invited to participate and randomly assigned titles taken from the lyrics of Bob Dylan's song “Visions of Johanna.” They were then asked to make a piece of work from that title. The exhibit will be hung in the order of the song's lyrics, forming an illustration or ‘vision’ of the song.

We've also invited 5 songwriters to share their interpretation of the song, and share more of their songs around back on a little stage... You never want to miss a May show at Studio &, and this year is no different! Mark your calendars and join us for what is sure to be a memorable evening.

On Friday, May 9th the acclaimed New Mexican band Lone Piñon featuring Jordan Wax, Karina Wilson, Santiago Romero and Tanya Nunez returns to the Event Shed at the Aztec Museum and Pioneer Village! The museum kicks off its 2025 "Music at the Museum" free concert series with this beloved band offering a dynamic bilingual performance to create a night of music that delights everyone.

Lone Piñon is a New Mexican string band, or “orquesta típica”, whose music celebrates the integrity and diversity of their region's cultural roots. With fiddles, upright bass, guitars, accordions, vihuela, and bilingual vocals, they play a wide spectrum of the traditional music that is at home in New Mexico.

Enter the Pioneer Village through the west gate off of Park Avenue by the Aztec Splash Pad. Seating provided or bring your own chairs. Concessions available. No pets are allowed. Service animals only.
