The Bonnie Dallas Senior Center in Farmington presents the High Desert Games Senior Olympics. Registration opens Monday, February 12th and the games run March 15th through May 31st. The Games are open to those 50 years and up - and will feature table tennis, darts, bocce ball, and field day... to shuffleboard, pickleball, chess, and more. The San Juan Mountains Association invites the public to celebrate Colorado Public Lands Day on Saturday, May 18th with a guided spring wildflower hike at Sand Canyon. The hours are 9 until noon and details are at sjma.org.
We will be going for a hike (no more than 5 miles) on moderate terrain. Along the way we will observe and learn about the flowers in bloom, as well as learn about the area’s geology and human history.

This 140-acre conservation easement is situated along the Florida River, this special place traverses riparian, sagebrush, and pinyon juniper ecosystems. With hiking trails, river play, a picnic pavilion, interpretive trails, a nesting bird walk and more. No pets, please.
The Pine River Library Garden Club’s annual Plant Exchange takes place from 9 until 1 on Saturday, May 18th.
Bring a plant, take a plant or make a donation and take a plant. Only cash payments will be accepted at the event.
The Garden Club of Durango will host its annual plant sale from 9 to 10:30 on Saturday morning, May 18th, at La Plata County Fairgrounds. Proceeds are used to maintain the gardens at Santa Rita Park.
Plants are from local members' gardens. A large selection of irises, labeled by color, will be available.
