Community Calendar

Mahjong is a tile-based table-top game developed in 19th century China. Similar to the Western card game rummy, mahjong is a game of skill, strategy, and luck. It is entertaining to play and, like dominoes, is relatively easy to learn.

Create Art and Tea is now hosting First Friday. First Friday is an effort to bring art and charitable foundations together. On the First Friday of every month, Create Art and Tea will host an art opening featuring new artists. Featured artists will choose a charity to support. A portion of the proceeds made from purchased art will go to the organization of choice. On opening night, you can expect light refreshments, live musical performances, the opportunity to meet the artists, and hear about the charitable organizations. The works for sale will remain in the loft area of the gallery for the remaining duration of each month. 4 Corners Tabletop Night is a place for tabletop gamers in the 4 Corners area to meet up and get their miniatures to the table. We play a variety of games and welcome players of all skill levels. Equality Pagosa hosts a "Stand Up Saturday" event from noon until 2PM every week in the public parking lot next to the Ruby Sisson Library.

Everyone is invited to exercise their 1st Amendment rights at these gatherings.

The Durango Arts Center presents the exhibit Leonard Davies: The Joys of Painting as a Pastime January 9 - February 28, 2026 in the Barbara Conrad Gallery. Davies retired from a distinguished career as a civil rights attorney, and began oil painting at the age of 70. His show features southwest landscapes, and is free to the public Tuesday - Saturday, Noon - 6 pm. An opening reception will take place from 5-7 pm, Friday, January 9.

Freshen up your yarn stash for the new year! Bring some yarn to give away and go home with new yarn. We'll also be having our normal meeting at the same time, so bring your project to work on!
