Health Without Barriers is a FREE 6-week family wellness program for families with teens ages 11 to 19. This program meets twice a week on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 5:30-7:45 PM, from September 9th through October 15th, at the Pine River Senior Center in Bayfield.
Program components include:Interactive health and wellness education for familiesHands-on cooking and nutrition classes (groceries provided to take home!)Physical activity sessions for teens and siblingsStress management and mindfulness trainingFamily support education for parents
The ENTIRE family is welcome - siblings of all ages can participate, and dinner is provided at every session. This is a collaborative program between Colorado State University Extension and CSU's Department of Human Development and Family Studies.
The Durango Barbershoppers Chorus invites tenor through bass vocalists to a weekly meet up at the Christ the King Lutheran Church in Durango. Those interested may meet at 6:30 every Tuesday in the Parish Hall.More information is at durangobarbershoppers.org.

The San Juan Symphony hosts Holly Mulcahy in a Solo Violin Recital at 7PM on Tuesday April 7th at the Connie Gotsch Theatre at San Juan College in Farmington.Sanjuansymphony.org has tickets and details.
This recital features solo violin music performed inside prisons, paired with reflections from incarcerated listeners. Audience members will see excerpts from the surveys prisoners complete after hearing the music, offering a rare glimpse into how they listen and what the violin evokes for them. The result is a recital shaped by perspective, attention, and the power of music to resonate across very different lives.

The public is invited to the Durango Bird Club Wednesday Bird Walks, every week, starting at 8AM on April 1st and running through September 30th.Those interested may meet at the painted wall in the Botanic Gardens in front of the Durango Public Library.
Enjoy the sights and sounds of our local birds. These guided walks are free, and beginners and experienced birders are welcome to join. Please bring your own binoculars.

Workout using your own body weight or light hand weights to work all the body parts! The free classes are always similar in style but always different moves to keep it fun and fresh. You’ll need a yoga mat & light hand weights. If you don’t have them, they are extras that can be used. Each class is around 35 min. long. Modifications are always available. It’s always a fun, upbeat, encouraging, and a great workout. Taught by Tammy Williams, certified fitness instructor. All ages and fitness levels are welcome!
