The Animas Valley Grange invites the public to bring surplus garden produce to the Grange on Thursdays from 4:30 to 6 pm, from July 24th through October 2nd. The items will then be distributed to community members in need of fresh veggies and fruit.
The Animas Valley Grange is located at 7271 Country Road 203, about 1 miles north of the Durango Hot Springs. For more information call Deb at 970-317-8162.
The monthly event has been a consistent gathering in Durango for over ten years. This year’s calendar of hosts includes nearly 30 local sustainability-related organizations and three organizations hosting each month.The event takes place from 5-7PM at 11th Street Station on the last Thursday of each month from February to October. February’s event will be on Thursday, February 27th with Great Old Broads for Wilderness, Turtle Lake Refuge, and the La Plata County Regional Housing Authority hosting.
Two Old Crows Gallery will host a reception on 9/25 from 5:30-7:00pm to view and purchase paintings created outdoors in Pagosa Springs during the Paint Pagosa! Plein Air Festival. Meet the artists, learn about their process and enjoy complimentary food and drinks. This event is sponsored by the Pagosas Springs Art Council (501C).
Spanish Conversation Hour at Sunnyside Library. A casual gathering to develop Spanish conversational skills. All levels of ability are welcome.
Do you want to add some bling to your favorite book cover? Here is your chance. Channel your inner artist (no experience or actual talent necessary!) as we bedazzle beloved books and add sparkle to brand new journals. We will provide the journals, sparkly gems, glue & the space to create and have fun. If you would prefer to add shine to an old book, please bring your own. This program welcomes patrons of all ages.

The Durango Arts Center presents the exhibit “Nature’s Tapestry in Plein Air” (Plein rhymes with ten) through October 25, 2025 in the Barbara Conrad Gallery. 44 works by local artists are on exhibit along with 10 entries from the Quick Draw competition. KDUR RADIO PRESENTS Jimmy Smith! Regional music fans may know Jimmy from the Austin TX based band THE GOURDS, who played Durango about a dozen times before going on hiatus in 2013. Smith then formed THE HARD PANS in Austin, then relocated to Montana where he continued to play shows solo and in the duo SMITH MCKAY ALL DAY.This Durango appearance will feature Smith in one man band mode, playing acoustic and electric guitar as well as drums- he'll be dipping into The Gourds catalog!
