The Durango Arts Repertory Theater is seeking original submissions for the 16th Annual 10-Minute Play Festival. This year’s theme is, “The State We Are In,” celebrating major anniversaries for Colorado and the United States. Submission deadline is Sunday, March 1st or at 200 entries.Details are at durangoarts.org.

The Durango Arts Center presents the exhibit Leonard Davies: The Joys of Painting as a Pastime January 9 - February 28, 2026 in the Barbara Conrad Gallery. Davies retired from a distinguished career as a civil rights attorney, and began oil painting at the age of 70. His show features southwest landscapes, and is free to the public Tuesday - Saturday, Noon - 6 pm. An opening reception will take place from 5-7 pm, Friday, January 9.

The Raven Narratives community Story Slam takes place at the Durango Arts Center on Friday, February 28th at 7 p.m., with the theme "LUCK." Tickets and details are at sunflowertheatre.org.
The evening features true stories shared live on stage, along with written stories and haikus from community members exploring good luck, bad luck, fate, chance, and unexpected twists.

The “No Secret Police in Durango” Petition Committee is gathering signatures of registered voters in the City of Durango through March 6, to place before City Council or Durango voters an ordinance that prohibits masking of law enforcement officers and requires visible identification.
