Mahjong is a tile-based table-top game developed in 19th century China. Similar to the Western card game rummy, mahjong is a game of skill, strategy, and luck. It is entertaining to play and, like dominoes, is relatively easy to learn.

The League of Women Voters of La Plata County will host a panel discussion with community members experiencing homelessness. The event takes place at 5PM on Friday, November 7th at the Durango VFW Hall.More information is at lwvlaplata.org.
Listen to their stories, ask questions, and gain a better perspective about what these folks go through. Bring a dish to share (in a disposable container) and join the potluck dinner afterwards - get to know the panelists better and gift them the leftovers.

Southwest Remix is a group invitational exhibition that brings together select local and regional contemporary artists whose work offers fresh, unique and contemporary perspectives on Southwestern identity and culture.
Featured artists include Nedilynn Brown, Paige Brevard, Hailey Fallis, Cie Hoover, Mariah Kaminsky, Ben Latham, Ted Moore, Nikki Moon, Louisa Palmer, Olivia Perrea, Jared Reed, Autumn Hunnicutt, and Kathryn Waggener.
The exhibition runs from November 5-26, 2025, with a First Friday artist reception on Friday, November 7th, from 5-8pm. This is a celebration of the evolving and multifaceted Southwest as seen through the eyes of its emerging artists.
