August J Mrakuzic has been a public radio lover for most of his life. He graduated from Fort Lewis College with a B.A. in Anthropology in 2023. During his senior year, he participated in the Tribal Water Media Fellowship. As part of his fellowship work, he filed his first public radio story, profiling a Tanzanian-American college student from Denver.

Angel Mollel was adopted as a teenager by an aid worker who lived in Colorado. As a teenager, she launched a non-profit in Denver to improve the lives of people in her home village–especially women and girls.
