The donation is part of a larger effort to return bison to Indigenous lands and stewardship.

The Fort Peck Tribe sent 11 bison to the Mosquito First Nation in Saskatchewan. It’s the first time bison have crossed the international border under the Yellowstone Bison Conservation Transfer Program.
