KSUT Honors Music Legend Guy Clark

Join us for several specials paying tribute to the Texas songwriter, who passed away May 17.

KSUT will air several specials on Guy Clark over the next week.

Thursday night at 9:00, we'll pull out an archive performance of Clark, recorded at Santa Fe's historic Lensic Theater in 2005 on the public radio show Southwest Stages.

The show features performances of L.A. Freeway, Rita Ballou, Desperados Waiting For A Train, and other Guy Clark songs, as well as a conversation with the troubadour.

Monday at noon, we'll delve into the history and legacy of Clark, with an archive documentary called West Texas, 1941: The Guy Clark Story.

It was produced in 2011 on Clark's 70th birthday, and features Willie Nelson, Jerry Jeff Walker, Ray Wylie Hubbard, and others celebrating one of America's greatest songwriters. This show preempts World Cafe on Monday May 23.

And Wednesday at 7:00 p.m., Chris Aaland traces Clark's musical history on Tales of the New West.
