The 7th International Mountain Medicine Symposium takes place in Silverton, starting Wednesday, September 17th. It will feature seminars on state of the art medical education, alpine rescue and high end avalanche awareness. Alternative Horizons is in need of volunteers to help in their mission of supporting survivors of domestic violence. Volunteers receive comprehensive training, plus ongoing staff support.
The next training takes place September 19th, 20th and 26th.

Workout using your own body weight or light hand weights to work all the body parts! The free classes are always similar in style but always different moves to keep it fun and fresh. You’ll need a yoga mat & light hand weights. If you don’t have them, they are extras that can be used. Each class is around 35 min. long. Modifications are always available. It’s always a fun, upbeat, encouraging, and a great workout. Taught by Tammy Williams, certified fitness instructor. All ages and fitness levels are welcome! Local and visiting artists will paint the fall scenes in and around Pagosa Springs starting 9/21 and ending 9/25. Painting locations will be posted on the "Paint Pagosa Plein Air Festival" page on Facebook.A reception and sale of paintings created during the event will be held at Two Old Crows Gallery on Thursday, 9/25 from 5:30-7:30PM. Come out and watch painters work in Pagosa's beautiful surroundings and view the finished work at Two Old Crows. This event is sponsored by the Pagosa Springs Art Council.

Aztec Ruins National Monument will host "Wool Dying Using Natural Plants" at 10AM on Sunday, September 21st. All ages are welcome to this free event.
Volunteer-In-Parks Jeanne Simonelli for a talk and demonstration of wool dying using natural, local plant dyes. Learn which plants produce which colors of dye, how plants are processed to make dyes, and how the wool dying process works.
This program will take place outdoors. No reservations required. All ages welcome.

The Great House Tour goes to the top of the mesa ridge for a 360-degree panoramic view of the landscape and a close-up of the two pinnacles with stops along the way to learn about the ancient Puebloan structures.

The 4CORE Beyond Solar Tour and Gathering takes place on Sunday, September 21st. The FREE self-guided tour covers homes and businesses in Durango using solar and net-zero technologies, including a stop at the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad's large scale solar array.
The tour will be followed by the Beyond Solar Gathering at Manna Soup Kitchen, with refreshments and live music by Pete Giuliani. Tickets to the Gathering are available at fourcore.org.
This year's events coincide with SunDay 2025—a national day of action celebrating the rise of clean energy and mobilizing communities across the country to embrace a renewable future.
