Join us weekly to explore new interests, delve into the wonders of learning science, and create artistic masterpieces!

Parents or guardians of children below 6th grade must register their children in order for them to attend after school programs. Register your child at www.prlibrary.org/after-school-programs or in person the library!

Hang out in the teen area for cards, tabletop games, and more! Ease into the after school time at the library with space to play, read, work on homework, and chill. You choose what works for you!

A 6-week live online course exploring the Four Keys of Living Mindfully: Attention, Wisdom, Values, and an Open Heart.

Through guided meditation, reflection, and practical tools, you’ll learn how to bring mindfulness into your daily life, not just on the cushion, but in the flow of work, relationships, and everyday challenges.

This course is accessible for all levels and offers structure, community, and support for anyone seeking greater clarity, steadiness, and purpose.

Mysteries of Chimney Rock Tour provides an in-depth discussion along the Great House Trail about the connection of Chimney Rock to the greater Chacon culture, the significance of the mesa-top Great House, and the day-to-day lives of the ancestral inhabitants of Chimney Rock.

Join us for this series exploring mindfulness and meditation with a particular emphasis on kindness as essential to the establishment of meditation practice. We will explore the basics of Dharma as well as exploring practical ways to bring mindfulness into our lives, our work and our relationships.

Community Narcotics Anonymous meetings take place at the Big Mountain Realty Building in Pagosa Springs every Wednesday at 6pm.

The Durango Arts Center presents the exhibit “Nature’s Tapestry in Plein Air” (Plein rhymes with ten) through October 25, 2025 in the Barbara Conrad Gallery. 44 works by local artists are on exhibit along with 10 entries from the Quick Draw competition. Most of the works are for sale. Gallery hours are Noon – 6:00 pm, Tuesday – Saturday. Information can be found at www.durangoarts.org

The Durango Cowboy Gathering takes place in a variety of venues from October 1st through the 4th. Events include a Cowboy Parade, over 20 singers and poets, a comedy revue and much more. The full schedule is at durangocowboygathering.com.

On Wednesday evening, our headliner will be Trinity Seely. On Thursday evening, our headliner will be Jon Chandler. Friday evening will be our Cowboy Comedy Revue featuring BJ Smith and R.P. Smith. Saturday will be our final evening performance with Dave Stamey as our headliner.

Our artists will also be performing in a number of different venues in downtown Durango on Friday and Saturday afternoons. On Friday performance will start at 11:00 am and will continue until 3:00 pm. Venues on Friday include Four Leaves Winery, Wild Horse Saloon, and the Diamond Belle. On Saturday performances will start at 11:00 am and will continue until 4:00 pm. Venues used on Saturday will be the same venues used on Friday with the addition of the Main Mall to the list of venues.

On Saturday morning, the activities will start with the Cowboy Chuckwagon breakfast that will be set up on W. 8th St at Main Avenue. Our Horseback Social will start at 8:30 am and continue until 10:00 am. At 10:30 am, our annual motorless Cowboy Parade will happen on Main Avenue. We have added a number of new events that will happen after the parade on the 700 and 800 blocks of Main Ave. After the parade, we will have our annual Wild West Shootout followed by the Basin Rodeo Team's annual pie auction. Following the pie auction, we will have live music for our Music on Main Street Fair. A stage will be set up on E. 8th St and Main Avenue. Syd Masters and the Swing Riders will perform starting at approximately 11:30 am until 1:00 pm. At 1:00 pm, Dave Stamey, Sarah Pierce, and Jim Jones will take the stage and play until 2:00 pm. In addition to the music on the 8th Street Stage, we will have a number of family friendly events on Main Ave. The Music on Main Street Fair will continue until 2:00 pm.

Following all the Saturday afternoon events, we will have our Poster Session and Artist Reception at the Toh-Atin Gallery starting at 4:30 pm.

The Durango Cowboy Gathering Western Swing Dance will finish up the week's events. The dance will feature Syd Masters and the Swing Riders and will be held at the Wild Horse Saloon starting at 8:00 pm.

Our events in town will be supplemented by a Western Art Gallery Walk on Thursday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The gallery walk will be hosted by the Toh-Atin Gallery, Sorrel Sky Gallery, and Wildshots Gallery. The Durango Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad will sponsor a Cowboy Poet Train at Friday morning and Bears Ranch will host a Cowboy Trail Ride, also on Friday morning.
