This October, LPEA invites members to connect, learn, and engage with leadership and energy experts during National Co-op Month.
Drop by one of the Coffee with Chris events for face-to-face time with LPEA leadership. Share your thoughts and ideas, and ask any questions you may have. There's no formal agenda—just an informal gathering where your co-op leadership listens to you!
The Durango Nature Center's Fall Family Festival takes place from 10 until 2 on Saturday, October 4th. Events include refreshments, family activities, crafts and a spotlight on the annual tarantula migration.More information is at sjma.org.

The Great House Tour goes to the top of the mesa ridge for a 360-degree panoramic view of the landscape and a close-up of the two pinnacles with stops along the way to learn about the ancient Puebloan structures.

The 2nd annual Durango Youth Arts Festival & Makers Market takes place in Fanto Park from noon until 3 on Saturday, October 4th.
The Blue Star Moms of Durango and the Colorado Gold Star Project will host a "Hall of Heroes" at the Durango VFW, from Friday through Sunday, October 3rd through 5th. The public is invited to view the exhibits, experience the Color Guard on Saturday at 9:30 am, and hear from guest speakers.
The Hall of Heroes and Silent Auction hours are Noon - 8 pm Friday, Saturday from 8 am - 8 pm, and 8 am - Noon on Sunday. Auction and cash donations can be made by calling Jill at 970-946-0870. All proceeds support the 2026 Healing Conference for Gold Star families. Both organizations provide support to families with sons and daughters in active US military service, or to families who have had a child die while engaged in active duty.
The Durango Arts Center presents “Nature’s Tapestry in Plein Air” through October 25, 2025 in the Barbara Conrad Gallery. 44 works by local artists are on exhibit along with 10 entries from the Quick Draw competition. Most of the works are for sale. Gallery hours are Noon – 6:00 pm, Tuesday – Saturday. Details are at www.durangoarts.org
Mancos Brewery is celebrating their 11th anniversary on Saturday, October 4th, and Lawn Chair Kings will play from 3 to 6, with new songs along with classics. Thanks for your support of local music and breweries!
The League of Women Voters of La Plata County will host the "Action is the Antidote for Anxiety," meeting - with a focus on immigration, healthcare, environmental protection, along with voter rights and security... on Saturday, October 4th from 3 to 5PM at the Durango Public Library.
