Pagosa Environmental Film Festival
The Pagosa Environmental Film Festival takes place on Friday and Saturday at the Tennyson Event Center and will feature nine first-run films.
The Friday Premiere Gala includes a catered gourmet dinner, live music with Steve Blechschmidt, a photography display and two award-winning films. Saturday's screenings start at 10AM. Tickets will be available at the door and online at pagosagreen.org.
Proceeds benefit the Geothermal Greenhouse Partnership, a nonprofit that manages greenhouses, gardens, and educational activities on the River Walk in downtown Pagosa Springs.
Premiere Gala wristbands allow guest into all films on Saturday. "Flyways: The Untold Story of Migratory Birds" won Best of Fest at Colorado Environmental Film Festival. "Flyways" explores the effects of climate change on Earth's bird populations. "The Covenant of the Salmon People," Best Feature, describes the relationship between the indigenous Nez Pearce people and the Snake River's endangered salmon.
