Microbiological Tools for Endangered Amphibian Conservation
A new fungal pathogen is currently decimating amphibian populations, both local and worldwide. For us a local species, the high-elevation Boreal toad, is being dramatically impacted. FLC Biology professor Tim Korpita will discuss the spread of the pathogen, as well microbiological and molecular tools he is developing in collaboration with wildlife officials to conserve these threatened amphibians.
