Carlos Santana "Shape Shifter" Tribal Radio Friday Featured CD, August 10th

Santana.jpg

Santana's 36th album is dedicated to Native American Indians and features 13 mostly original songs he has been saving for a special release. Only one song, the Latin-flavored "Eres La Luz," features vocals (singers Andy Vargas and Tony Lindsay). The remaining instrumental tracks showcase Santana's virtuoso guitar playing in a beautifully arranged and carefully paced album.

The title song channels Native American spirits, opening with the call of an eagle and featuring traditional tribal chanting. The soaring track is highlighted by Santana's distinctive lead guitar, with backing by the musicians who provide the album's backbone — Dennis Chambers (drums), Benny Rietveld (bass) and Chester Thompson (keyboards).  Special
