Watch Mandolin Orange Perform 'Cavalry' Live At Pickathon

The setting at Pickathon must have seemed familiar to Mandolin Orange, the Americana duo of Andrew Marlin and Emily Frantz. On a stifling Saturday afternoon late last summer, Marlin and Frantz played at the festival's Woods Stage, a performance space nestled in a heavily forested holler just outside Portland, Ore. The scene looked like something straight out of the Appalachian foothills in the duo's home state of North Carolina.

Those cozy confines helped to coax a masterful performance from the two musicians, who showcased a set of understated folk music for an attentive crowd that was doing its best to escape the heat. The performance was highlighted by a refreshing version of "Cavalry," from 2013's This Side Of Jordan. Mandolin Orange is set to release its fourth album, Blindfaller, on Sept. 30.

The annual Pickathon festival returns August 5-7 at Pendarvis Farm in Happy Valley, Ore., with a lineup that features headlining performances from Beach House, Wolf Parade, Jeff Tweedy and Yo La Tengo.
