The Chimney Rock Interpretive Association will host daily guided Great House Tours at 10:30 from Thursday, May 15th through Saturday, May 31st.Details are available at chimneyrockco.org.
The tour goes to the top of the mesa ridge for a 360-degree panoramic view of the landscape and a close-up of the two pinnacles with stops along the way to learn about the ancient Puebloan structures.
The Aztec Museum presents "If These Walls Could Talk:" A Picnic Fundraiser at the Historic Tully House in Flora Vista. The event takes place at 10:30 on Saturday, May 31st. Reservations are limited to 45 attendees. Details are at aztecmuseum.org.
About the Presenter: Patty Tharp is a local historian, writer and genealogist. She is the author of the popular two-volume set "The Lost Communities of Navajo Dam". Additional research provided by Jodi Johnson, a descendant of the Goulding family.
Tully House is privately owned. We are grateful to have exclusive permission to share this program on site for a limited number of guests. Guests must bring their own chairs and enjoy a box lunch provided by Ancient Grounds Cafe. The cost is $25 per person for Aztec Museum members; $35 for non-members. All proceeds benefit the Aztec Museum Association, a 501(c)3 nonprofit. Note: bee hives on site. Port-a-potties will be available. Guests will meet at the Aztec Museum & Pioneer Village, 125 N. The Aztec Museum and Pioneer Village will host the "One Day One Room Schoolhouse Experience" on the following dates: Friday, June 6thFriday, June 27thFriday, July 11th
The event simulates a day at school during Aztec's pioneer era - with Reading, Writing and Arithmetic, plus craft activities and old-fashioned fun & games.Due to space limitations, each session is capped at 10 kids, ages 6 through 13. Aztecmuseum.org has more information.

Create Art and Tea is now hosting First Friday. First Friday is an effort to bring art and charitable foundations together. On the First Friday of every month, Create Art and Tea will host an art opening featuring new artists. Featured artists will choose a charity to support. A portion of the proceeds made from purchased art will go to the organization of choice. On opening night, you can expect light refreshments, live musical performances, the opportunity to meet the artists, and hear about the charitable organizations. The works for sale will remain in the loft area of the gallery for the remaining duration of each month. The Pagosa Springs Arts Council will host a festival of the arts from 10 until 5PM in the Tennyson Sculpture Garden on Saturday, June 7th and Sunday the 8th - featuring over 30 local and regional artists. The event will also have live music, a gourmet food truck, beverages, snow cones and more.
A great opportunity to meet local artist and collect their work.
The Pagosa Springs Art Council is a 501C non profit.
