In honor of Mental Health Week, La Plata County Public Health Department invites the community to walk along the Animas River Trail, starting at Memorial Park and proceeding to Rotary Park and back. The event takes place at 4PM on Tuesday, May 20th and will include free T-Shirts, mental health first aid kits, and refreshments for all attendees.

The Southwest Colorado eSchool your free, LOCAL, accredited, rigorous, and flexible 6th-12th grade ONLINE school! We serve only the LOCAL districts including Dove Creek, Montezuma-Cortez, Mancos, Dolores, Durango, Silverton, Bayfield, Ignacio, and Archuleta. Our virtual, public school has been serving our community for over 14 years.

HIIT stands for High Intense Interval Training. Each class will consist of a demonstration, warm-up, and 10-12 stations where we will focus on a specific body group per station. We will rotate through 3 rounds with a short break between each round. When the work out is over we cool down and stretch.
All equipment will be provided. These HIITs will be outside, please plan accordingly and bring your own water.
Workout using your own body weight or light hand weights to work all the body parts! The free classes are always similar in style but always different moves to keep it fun and fresh. You’ll need a yoga mat & light hand weights. If you don’t have them, they are extras that can be used. Each class is around 35 min. long. Modifications are always available. It’s always a fun, upbeat, encouraging, and a great workout. Taught by Tammy Williams, certified fitness instructor. All ages and fitness levels are welcome! The Chimney Rock Interpretive Association will host daily guided Great House Tours at 10:30 from Thursday, May 15th through Saturday, May 31st.Details are available at chimneyrockco.org.
The tour goes to the top of the mesa ridge for a 360-degree panoramic view of the landscape and a close-up of the two pinnacles with stops along the way to learn about the ancient Puebloan structures.

The La Plata Electric Association annual meeting takes place on Wednesday, May 21st, at their Durango office. The public is invited to lunch and onsite voting at 11:30, followed by the meeting at 12:30.
