The Fort Lewis College Theatre season concludes with the production "Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812." Performances take place at 7:30PM from April 3rd through 6th. (Wednesday through Saturday), with a 2PM matinee on Saturday and a 5PM closing performance on Sunday (4/7). Details and tickets are available at durangoconcerts.com.
Composer/lyricist Dave Malloy’s adaptation focuses on “Natasha’s romance with Anatole and Pierre’s search for the meaning of his own life.
Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 features a cast of twenty including Harrison Wendt as Pierre and Katelyn Bowie as Natasha. The production is directed by Michael E. McKelvey and choreographed by Suzy DiSanto. Great Comet will also feature a live ten-piece orchestra under the baton of Dr. Wesley Dunnagan. The remainder of the creative team includes set and lighting designer James Padilla, costume designer Megan Sander, and sound designer Logan Roybal.
Holding to the spirit of the original production, Great Comet will be an immersive experience with the company using the entire theatre as its stage. This will be the Four Corners premiere of this unique show.
