On the morning of Saturday, May 21, a car crash near Hesperus took the life of Judy Rohwer and seriously injured her two daughters, Angela and Heidi.

The family is well-known to many in the Four Corners as the proprietors of Rohwer’s Farm, located in Pleasant View.

They’ve been regulars at the Durango Farmer’s Market for more than a decade, selling, as they say on their , everything from artichokes to zucchini.

In the wake of the accident, community members in La Plata and Montezuma Counties have stepped up to help keep operations running at Rohwer’s Farm.

The effort is organized by Durango Farmer’s Market manager Melanie Gonzalez and La Plata County Extension Office Agent Darrin Parmenter. They spoke to Tami Graham for this KSUT Conversation.
