The Durango Public Library presents "History Live: Photographing the Dominguez-Escalante Trail of 1776" at 6PM on Tuesday, September 23rd.
Kathy Myrick, former executive director of the San Juan Symphony, spent her non-concert weekends for 15 years photographing the 1,700-mile trail blazed by the first white men to explore the Four Corners area.
The Durango Arts Center presents the exhibit “Nature’s Tapestry in Plein Air” (Plein rhymes with ten) through October 25, 2025 in the Barbara Conrad Gallery. 44 works by local artists are on exhibit along with 10 entries from the Quick Draw competition. The Good Food Collective and Durango Tool Library have teamed up to help with local fruit harvesting, to reduce human-bear conflict, eliminate food waste, and directly address food security.More information is at goodfoodcollective.org.

The Durango Bird Club will host weekly Wednesday morning Bird Walks through the middle of October.Those interested may meet at 8AM at the painted wall in the Botanical Gardens in front of the public library.
From there we head down and do a loop around Huck Finn Pond and the Fish Hatchery and return to our starting place. everyone is welcome to join. Please bring your own binoculars.
Alternative Horizons is in need of volunteers to help in their mission of supporting survivors of domestic violence. Volunteers receive comprehensive training, plus ongoing staff support.
The next training takes place September 19th, 20th and 26th.

HIIT stands for High Intense Interval Training. Each class will consist of a demonstration, warm-up, and 10-12 stations where we will focus on a specific body group per station. We will rotate through 3 rounds with a short break between each round. When the work out is over we cool down and stretch.
All equipment will be provided. These HIITs will be outside, please plan accordingly and bring your own water.
Workout using your own body weight or light hand weights to work all the body parts! The free classes are always similar in style but always different moves to keep it fun and fresh. You’ll need a yoga mat & light hand weights. If you don’t have them, they are extras that can be used. Each class is around 35 min. long. Modifications are always available. It’s always a fun, upbeat, encouraging, and a great workout. Taught by Tammy Williams, certified fitness instructor. All ages and fitness levels are welcome!
