The Durango Arts Center presents “Nature’s Tapestry in Plein Air” through October 25, 2025 in the Barbara Conrad Gallery. 44 works by local artists are on exhibit along with 10 entries from the Quick Draw competition. The San Juan County Historical Society presents a talk on the importance of Turquoise among the Navajo and Pueblo people of the southwest. The event takes place at 6PM on Wednesday, October 22nd at the Farmington Civic Center.
This presentation will take you on a journey from the ancient Egyptian royalty to the cultures of the Aztec empire and to the doorstep of the Navajo matriarchs who wear it perpetually.

Durango resident, Doris Allen, will have her debut art exhibit at Turquoise Raven Art Gallery in Cortez, CO. The exhibit will start Friday, Oct. 3 through Friday, Oct. 31st. "Casas del Alma' is a collection of collage, mixed media and non-representational art. Doris' Colombian roots influence her work as well as her background in architecture and design. Vivid colors and impeccable design shine through all of her art.
