Mahjong is a tile-based table-top game developed in 19th century China. Similar to the Western card game rummy, mahjong is a game of skill, strategy, and luck. It is entertaining to play and, like dominoes, is relatively easy to learn.

Create Art and Tea is now hosting First Friday. First Friday is an effort to bring art and charitable foundations together. On the First Friday of every month, Create Art and Tea will host an art opening featuring new artists. Featured artists will choose a charity to support. A portion of the proceeds made from purchased art will go to the organization of choice. On opening night, you can expect light refreshments, live musical performances, the opportunity to meet the artists, and hear about the charitable organizations. The works for sale will remain in the loft area of the gallery for the remaining duration of each month. The annual Build Pagosa Dinner & Auction takes place at the Ross Aragon Community Center at 5:30 on Friday, May 2nd. Funds raised will go to construction of aRegional Workforce Center and to support Career and Technical Education programs at the high school. The evening includes a full dinner, an assortment of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, socializing and a silent and live auction.
High quality student made projects will be showcased along with donated experience packages, services, handcrafted items, retail items and mystery buckets.
The Citizens Climate Lobby invites the public to a screening of "Beyond Zero," an inspiring film about a global company's path to sustainability and to address their impacts on climate change.The event takes place at the Durango Public Library at 5:30 on Friday, May 2nd.
