Ukrainians in Telluride talk about the Russian invasion

For many people in isolated ski towns like Telluride, the Russian invasion of Ukraine might feel like a distant news story.

But, for some, it’s personal.

We spoke to several Telluride locals from Ukraine and Russia about the invasion.

 As recently as late February, Lena Demura was planning to visit her family in Ukraine over off-season. But then things shifted.
