Three-time Grammy and Tony-winning jazz vocalist Dee Dee Bridgewater dropped by Eagle Sound in Durango Friday, December 3 to grace us with a KSUT Session. We linked up with the studios and broadcast the session live.
KSUT's Tami Graham talked to Bridgewater about her long career, including her time as host of the NPR program JazzSet. The renowned vocalist also talked about the day R&B singer Carla Thomas dropped by the studio and about her founding of the Woodshed Network, which supports and mentors female jazz performers.
Bridgewater performs two shows Friday, December 3 and Saturday the 4th at The Lift at Cascade, 50827 Highway 550. Seatings are at 5 PM and 8 PM.
For this KSUT Session, Bridgewater was joined on piano by her band member Carmen Staaf.
