Mata Ortiz Pottery

Mata Ortiz Pottery

Share this rare opportunity with us to host Oralia Lopez, world-famous potter and artist, as she demonstrates her technique and showcases unique art made by many different artists from the towns of Nueva Casas Grandes and Mata Ortiz in Chihuahua, Mexico. The styles and shapes you will see are inspired by prehistoric pottery designs and rock art, once created by the Native American ancestors of today's Mata Ortiz potters between the 600s and 1200s. Please join us Friday, November 3 from 3- 7:30pm for a reception with early sales and refreshments, and all day Sunday November 4 from 9am-3pm for continuing demonstrations and sales!
