Durango's First Beaver Festival
Durango's First Beaver Festival
Durango’s first Beaver Festival takes place on Saturday, June 14th,at Rotary Park, from 10 until 3. This free, family-friendly celebration will include live music from Niceness, plus Celtic tunes and a contra dance.
Activities include a Beaver Scavenger Hunt for kids, Hands-on exhibits & a life-size beaver lodge play area along with talks on ecology, water, and riparian habitat restoration.
This year’s theme: “When We Partner With Nature, Everyone Wins.”
Hosted by Give A Dam, this one-of-a-kind event will bring together restoration practitioners, scientists, artists, educators, and the community — to learn how beavers are helping us restore watersheds, fight drought, prevent wildfires, and bring back biodiversity.
Be part of the interactive Beaver Theater, where you can dress as a wetland creature and act out the story of the beaver’s role in our ecosystems. Costumes encouraged.
Come honor the waters, connect with the community, and celebrate the wild wisdom of beavers.
