Animas River Days starts with a Kick-off Party on Thursday, May 29th, and runs through Sunday, June 1st. Events include river-surfing, freestyle kayaking, SUP & raft slalom, boatercross, downriver races, a fly fishing contest—plus the River Parade Viewing Party. The fun wraps up Sunday evening with live music from Carute Roma. Spectating is free, and the festival grounds feature a vendors food, beer garden, kids’ activities, and zero-waste stations.

The Four Corners Gem and Mineral Show has issued a Call For Volunteers.The event takes place at La Plata County Fairgrounds from July 11th through the 13th.More information is at durangorocks.org.
This event relies on local volunteers to make it happen. Volunteering for at least 1 shift will grant you free access to the show for all three days.

Workout using your own body weight or light hand weights to work all the body parts! The free classes are always similar in style but always different moves to keep it fun and fresh. You’ll need a yoga mat & light hand weights. If you don’t have them, they are extras that can be used. Each class is around 35 min. long. Modifications are always available. It’s always a fun, upbeat, encouraging, and a great workout. Taught by Tammy Williams, certified fitness instructor. All ages and fitness levels are welcome! The Southwest Colorado Cancer Survivor Day Celebration takes place at 11:30 on Sunday, June 1st at the Plaza at Three Springs. The event will include live music, inspiring speakers, yoga sessions, arts and crafts, a picnic-style lunch and more. Cancersupportswcolorado.org has more information.
