Cree Confederation, PICICIWIN, Feature CD, 5/9

Formed in the winter of 2007, Cree Confederation has made and met their aspirations of becoming a recognizable Pow-Wow Drum Group.  So many great drum groups have encouraged and mentored their dream, Cree Confederation have taken their place in the winter's circle amongst champions.  They represent the Cree people of the Treaty Six area.  Their style of music they share comes from their grandfathers, a style that is a hybrid of original and contemporary style of singing.

Cree Confederation Awards, Nominations & Submissions;  2010, Best Pow-Wow CD-Contemporary, Pakosiyimitan, Nominee.  2011, Best Group or Duo, Submission.  2012, Best Group or Duo, Horse Dance-Mistatim Simoowin, Nominee.  2012, Best Pow-wow CD-Contemporary-Horse Dance Mistatim, Nominee.

Piciciwin brings the lively energy and good vibes of the Round Dance.  Championship singers in their own right, Cree Confedz have been nurtured by Round Dance's legendary singers.  In this recording, they pay homage to the power of the legacy of the Cree Round Dance.  Please join us Friday, May 9, 2014 12PM(MST) on Tribal Radio, for this weeks Feature CD Cree Confederation "PICICIWIN."  This CD was donated to KSUT by Canyon Records, for more information about other traditional contemporary recordings visit Canyon Records @http://www.canyonrecords.com
