Sunnyside Book Club at Sunnyside Library. This month’s book is Framed by John Grisham. All are welcome.
The Animas Valley Grange will host the presentation, “One-room Schools in SW La Plata County,” on Monday, May 19th at 6:30 pm. The evening start with refreshments at 6:15.
Fort Lewis College retired professor and author, Jean Campion, will explain how her research into one-room schoolhouses became a historical novel series about life on the Dry Side through the eyes of a one-room schoolteacher. The presentation is free and open to the public. This event will be held at the Animas Valley Grange Hall, 7271 County Road 203. The program is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served at 6:15 pm. If you would like to read the books in advance, you can obtain copies of the first two books in the series, "Minta Forever" and "Return to Rockytop” for $5 each by contacting Deb Paulson (deborah.paulson@gmail.com; 970-317-8162).
