Musically Speaking

Musically Speaking

Maestro Thomas Heuser will speak at the Powerhouse Science Center at 6pm on Wednesday, September 27th on the upcoming weekend concert by the San Juan Symphony, "EXUBERANCE."

Learn about the life and music of the pioneering American composer Amy Beach and how, despite societal constraints, her compositions, including the Piano Concerto in C-sharp Minor, resonated with audiences, and historic firsts marked her career. And learn more about the evocative and powerful Symphony No. 5 by Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1840-1893). And why Tchaikovsky's symphony, with its haunting melodies and emotional depth, has earned its place as one of the most beloved works in the classical repertoire.
