2024 DEA - CBI Family Summit
Family & Youth Summit to Address Critical Issues of Drug Prevention and Cultural Healing in Shiprock, NM. Capacity Builders, Inc., in collaboration with the Drug Enforcement Administration(DEA) El Paso Division, is excited to announce the upcoming Family & Youth Summit, set to take place on June 25-26, 2024, in Shiprock, NM. This significant event aims to unite the community to address the pressing issues of illicit fentanyl, drug poisoning/overdoses, and underage drinking, while emphasizing the importance of cultural healing as a tool for change.
The summit will provide a platform for families, community members, and stakeholders to engage in meaningful dialogue, share best practices, and develop effective prevention strategies. By integrating traditional practices and values, the event seeks to empower individuals and families to overcome adversity and build resilient communities.
The Summit will feature esteemed guest speakers, including representatives from the New Mexico U.S. Attorney's Office, Navajo Nation Council, and funding agencies such as SAMHSA, CDC, and HRSA. These speaker will provide valuable insights and contribute to the dialogue on how to best support and protect our communities.
