14th Annual Chama Valley Art Festival and Studio Tour
The Chama Valley Art Festival and Studio Tour celebrates its 14th year of Art and Artists. Artists from Northern New Mexico come into the Village to show their work at several stops. Several artist studios will also be open. The Art Festival is mostly within the Village of Chama. Look for the circular logo on markers in front of locations along the tour. Get started at the Chama Valley Art Center, see a sample of all of the work in the festival, pick up a map, and don’t forget to grab a punch card. Visit all of the stops for entry into a raffle! Come see a huge variety of art represented: jewelry, heritage crafts, glass art, large sculptures, metal art, paintings in all mediums, photography, plus fabric art including quilts and hand dyed and woven traditional Northern New Mexican rugs. Useful items made from recycled tires made by Veronica Hennigh and Otra Vuelta offer affordable options for Christmas presents. Log River Ranch, Rio Chama Espresso, Arriba Concrete, Eddie’s Chevron, Monarch Gifts, and Sign of the Trophy Elk Shops are among the valuable sponsors of the Festival. There will be live music, an interactive chapter of the ongoing epic story being developed across Northern New Mexico by the Eyes of Time artist collective. The Chama Valley Art Center will show their film, Future Fates, created in collaboration with local theater group, Tierra Amarilla Club. Spend a cool, refreshing weekend in Chama, NM. Find lodging, restaurants and gift shops throughout the village. Ride the Labor Day steam train, the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad and visit all the artists on the Chama Valley Art Festival and Studio Tour.
