The Senate announced Thursday it will not decide on President Obama's contested health care bill before the Congressional recess in August. The decision is seen as a setback to the aggressive timeline originally proposed by the White House for passing the legislation.
Rep. Henry Cuellar, a Democratic Congressman from Texas, a member of the Blue Dogs, an organization of moderate and conservative Democrats whose objections to the proposed health care legislation have been cited by some as reasons why the bill has not passed sooner; former Republican Minnesota Congressman Vin Weber, managing partner of Clark & Weinstock, a prominent Washington Public relations and lobbying firm and progressive blogger David Dayen, who was recently contacted by Presdient Obama as part of an aggressive health care lobbying effort by the White House debate issues surrounding the bill.
