Members of the House and Senate conference comittee today announced their agreement on the final version of a counter-terrorism bill. The legislation makes it easier to deport terrorists, bans terrorist groups from fund-raising in the U.S., provides extra funding for police efforts, and requires some explosives to be tagged. It also limits court appeals by death row inmates. The final bill restores a number of items which the Clinton administration favored that had passed the Senate but had been removed in the House. Both houses are expected to vote this week. NPR's Peter Kenyon reports.
