After losing a year to the COVID pandemic, the third-annual Durango PlayFest returns to the Four Corners with an intriguing line-up of new plays, August 5-8. Durango Playfest presents dramatic art as it is being created, this year featuring plays forged during the pandemic that continue to be sculpted as their author's work with professional actors and directors, and gauging the reactions of audience members.
Tami Graham spoke with Sky Lakota-Lynch, an actor of Native American and Ethiopian descent, who will be closing the PlayFest with a cold reading of a new play by Lee Blessing. The Family Line, featuring Dan Lauria and Sky Lakota-Lynch, is a searing drama of intergenerational conflict during a road trip of painful memories and the hope of redemption.
