KSUT's Mark Duggan talks to Darrin Parmenter of the county extension office about some of the week's events, and the upcoming opening of the Durango Farmer's Market.

The La Plata County Extension Office is hosting a series of events this week called Horticulture Week, with talks and classes on everything from vegetable gardens to grafting.

The event was organized along with help from the Durango Botanical Society.

As Darrin Parmenter, director of the extension office explained, Horticulture Week sprang from a desire to highlight more plant and gardening education in the area.

Horticulture Week continues through Sunday, May 15 at various locations in Durango.
