Lightner Creek Fire

According to Fire Chief Dan Noonan, Durango Fire and Rescue has responded to a blaze west of Durango, off Lightner Creek Road, on County Road 208.  The fire is burning on private land and the Perins Peak State Wildlife Area.  Noonan says the fire has already burned approximately 30 acres, and wind is pushing the fire west.  Noonan says over 20 fire engines have already responded to the blaze, and air support is being diverted from the Weber Fire.  A pre-evacuation notice has been issued for residents on County Road 207 and 208.  We will have more information on this fire as it becomes available.
