Sihasin, Never Surrender, Feature CD 3/7

Clayson Benally & Jeneda Benally, brother & sister of Blackfire, originally from Black Mesa on the Navajo Reservation in Arizona, were born into the heart of a political land dispute separating them by a fence from traditional homeland and family.  They grew up protesting the environmental degradation and inhumane acts of cultural genocide against their traditional way of life They are very excited to announce their new side project "Sihasin"!   A Navajo word that means Hope & Assurance is basis of duo new sound.  Sihasin, is proud to release their debut video "Take a Stand"!  They  were also featured in Making Music Magazine (November/December 2013);  Makes front cover at LaLoca Magazine (November 2013);  Honored with 2013 "Best Rock" award at Indian Summer Music Awards.  Join us this Friday, March 07, 2014 12PM (MST) for this weeks Feature CD. Lorena Richards is an enrolled member of the Southern Ute Indian Tribe & lifelong resident of Ignacio, CO. A mother of three, Lorena has worked at KSUT Tribal Radio for over eight years. Before her passion for radio, Lorena’s passion was cooking which took her to Culinary School. Returning home she began volunteering for KSUT and has since worked her way into a full-time position & the current Content Director for Tribal Radio. Lorena has two afternoon programs during the week and she hosts the Tuesday & Thursday "Native Morning Show." Her goal is to get her Bachelor’s degree in Video Journalism.
