BEAR CREEK SINGERS, RIGHT NOW, FRIDAY FEATURED CD, SEPT 28TH

"RIGHT NOW" was recorded live at the 23rd Annual CMU Celebrating Life Powwow in Mt. Pleasant, MI.  BEAR CREEK formed in 1998 has composed and produced 14 years of Northern Style Powwow Songs.  Always a crowd pleaser and a Dancer's Choice, BEAR CREEK presents a variety of songs on this recording.  Songs are composed and sang in either the Cree, Atikamek, Ojibwe and Dakota languages.  Members represent primarily the the Ojibwe Nation with some Cree, Menominee and Prairie Band of Patawtomi representation. BEAR CREEK is well known for the energy they bring to any powwow, as well as the strong back-up singing from long time member Nitanis "Kit" Largo.  BEAR CREEK has been Grammy-nominated and continues to "bring it" as singers and as a group.  "RIGHT NOW" is available on the Canyon Records label at www.canyonrecords.com

Sheila has hosted the native Morning Show on KSUT Tribal Radio since 2000. In 2006 she also became co-host of Feeding the Spirit, a prgram focused on Native American health issues. In 2009, Sheila was hired by KSUT as the administration director intern and shortly thereafter became the director of Tribal Radio. She is currently one of KSUT's Executive Directors on the management team.
