KSUT Welcomes 'Global Village' to Friday Nights

New show debuting this Friday at 7 pm continues KSUT's tradition of world-based music on Friday nights.
KSUT is introducing a new world music show, Global Village, to our programming lineup starting Friday, September 11 at 7:00 p.m.

Global Village shares a similar name and focus to Global Groove, the show it replaces.

(Global Groove's host and producer Kenny B. decided to end the 15-year show in early September.)

Global Village is hosted by Chris Heim, a music and arts producer based at public radio station KMUW in Wichita, Kansas. She plays both new releases and classics encompassing genres, traditions, and influences from around the world.

Heim also produces frequent Global Village specials around holidays such as Mardi Gras, St. Patrick's Day, Halloween, and Hug a Medievalist Day; as well as tributes, features, interviews, and a monthly show devoted exclusively to new world music releases.

According to Heim, the show calls on a library of more than 50,000 albums, including many out-of-print titles. Global Village also keeps an active Facebook page.

KSUT welcomes Global Village, this Friday evening at 7:00 p.m.
