Scare Yourself Silly With Halloween Specials on KSUT

Mark Duggan

We'll help raise the dead with the original War of the Worlds; plus lots of ghost stories and spooky tunes.

This Halloween night, join KSUT for five hours of special Halloween programming. It's a radio descent into Chapel Perilous with bone-chilling, heart-thudding sounds from beyond.

It all starts at 7:00 p.m. with a re-broadcast of the original 1938 War of the Worlds, from Orson Welles and the Mercury Radio Theater.

And then at 8, it's two hours of ghost stories, crypt-openings, Edgar Allen Poe, fences made of bones, a séance, and much more.

And later Halloween night, join us for a coffin-load of weird and wonderful tunes from the Retro Cocktail Party Hour.

And we'll approach the Witching Hour with a special edition of Strange Brew, featuring Phish recorded live at the MGM Grand on Halloween 2014. The band used the 1964 Walt Disney album Thrilling, Chilling Sounds of the Haunted House as an improvisational springboard.

KSUT Halloween night schedule, at a glance:

7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. War of the Worlds
8:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. Ghost Stories

Sound Opinions, the Grateful Dead Hour, and Jazz Network return next Saturday night at their regularly scheduled times.
