Aterciopelados: Music As A Weapon Of Change

Fusing rock with the musical traditions of its Colombian homeland, Aterciopelados has garnered a lot of international attention over the past 15 years. The band has won a Latin Grammy, not to mention honors from the U.N. for its socially conscious message.

Rio, the duo's latest album, is inspired by the Bogota River's polluted condition and stands as a call to action for its recovery. In a session with host David Dye, Aterciopelados performs and discusses the profound problems Colombia faces, while also describing its collective belief in music as a weapon for change.
